Welcome to the Windsor Hill Technology Club website!
My name is Anne-Marie Wilcox, and I am the Instructional Technology Specialist at Windsor Hill Elementary.
Words can’t express how excited I was when Mrs. Davies approached me with the prospect of advising a technology club! I plan to use this club to teach your child about fun, creative ways they can use the computer. As club members kids will also learn about careers in technology from professionals in the field. Some of the projects your child will be participating in include:
· Completing an introductory technology interest survey
· Creating a PowerPoint about themselves
· Working as a team to create a movie about Windsor Hill for new students
· Completing internet safety activities
· Other activities to be determined (it really depends on how long it takes to complete the aforementioned activities)
Please know that some of your child’s work may be posted online or may be used for conference presentations. If it is posted, it will be posted with your child’s first name only to ensure your child’s safety. Descriptions of all activities that we complete will be included on this blog. (http://whestechclub.wordpress.com) I plan on updating this blog after each club meeting, so stay tuned!
If you are interested in helping your child or helping with this club, there are multiple ways to do so:
1) If you work in the field of technology or use technology on the job and would like to share, let me know and we can arrange a time for you to speak to the club about your job. (We can teleconference if you can’t make it to school)
2) If you would like to drop in on club time, we meet every Friday at 1:30. Our door is always open.
3) If other obligations won’t allow you to drop in, feel free to comment on the club web page. Kids love hearing from you online.
4) We can always use gently used or new flash drives so kids can store their work.
